Please welcome Tom Dennis

For some time now we've had an empty chair in our trumpet section. I'm delighted to introduce to that chair's new inhabitant, Tom Dennis.

A graduate of Trinity Laban and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Tom was a recipient of the renowned Yamaha Jazz Scholarship Prize in 2014. Since then, he has pursued a busy freelance career, and has gone on to perform with an exciting array of acts, including the BBC Big Band and The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.

With a host of recording credits to his name, Tom has also appeared on many broadcasts for TV and Radio, and has been fortunate to perform all around the world.

He's one of my favourite jazz players, always producing knock-out solos and his playing within the section has won him fans with the other guys he'll be standing alongside. Our trumpet section now comprises Russell Bennett (lead), Andy Gathercole, George Hogg and Tom Dennis. You won't hear much better than that! Do say "hello" to Tom when you next see him on a gig.
