Eleanor Keenan: 1947-2022

We are very sad to inform you that Eleanor Keenan passed away on Wednesday. As many of you will know, Ellie had been suffering at the hands of Motor Neurone Disease; we take comfort in knowing that she will now be free from the pain and suffering caused by this cruelest of illnesses.

From Eurovision entries to session singer for the likes of Mike Batt and Roger Whittaker, Eleanor was a well-respected commercial singer. For many years she sang with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra before joining us in 2005. She performed with us on nearly every concert since then and appeared on two albums.

The classiest singer in the business, Eleanor could deliver a ballad like no other. Her warm personality was as evident to audiences as it was to anyone who spoke to her. She was a dear friend to many of us and will be missed by all who knew her.

Eleanor is survived by her son Matt and a legacy of great memories and recordings.

RIP Ellie x
